Dental Implants

Better education and increased access to modern dental care has resulted in more people than ever retaining their natural teeth for a lifetime. However, tooth loss still occurs, especially in older patients who suffer from periodontal disease or advanced decay. Replacing missing teeth is vitally important, as a gap will cause your remaining teeth to move and experience excessive wear. In addition, jawbone tissue beneath the site of a missing tooth will deteriorate over time, which can alter the shape of your face and make you look older. While removable dentures and fixed bridges are excellent options for replacing lost teeth, dental implants are a more stable and durable tooth replacement method that also provides the proper stimulation to prevent jawbone deterioration.

Implant Supported Dentures

An implant-supported denture is a type of overdenture that is supported by and attached to implants. A regular denture rests on the gums, and is not supported by implants.

An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants.

Implant-supported dentures usually are made for the lower jaw because regular dentures tend to be less stable there. Usually, a regular denture made to fit an upper jaw is quite stable on its own and doesn’t need the extra support offered by implants. However, you can receive an implant-supported denture in either the upper or lower jaw.

Denture Replacement

Do you have dentures that are loose or ill-fitting? If so, we can help increase stability through denture replacement with several denture types and anchoring methods. We offer mini dentures, partials, and All-on-4™ treatment. Whatever your needs are, we can help you feel more comfortable, avoid embarrassment from dentures falling out, and improve your bite. Our dentists use special attachments that keep your dentures in place, make them easy to clean, and helping them to feel more like permanent, natural teeth. With over 25 years of experience in denture replacement and hundreds of successful denture replacement procedures, Dr. Hashemian can help you find the denture stability you need for a smile that looks and feels more natural.

Porcelain Crowns and Dental Bridges

Porcelain crowns and dental bridges can provide durable, natural-looking solutions for a number of common dental issues. These treatments can restore functionality, strength, and appearance for missing, damaged, or decayed teeth.

A porcelain crown is a tooth-colored, custom-made “cap” that is bonded to an existing tooth. A crown is typically placed over a decayed tooth following a root canal, and it is often used to add structural support and enhanced aesthetics to a damaged tooth. Crowns also serve as the final touches to dental implants.

A dental bridge is designed to fill gaps where there are missing teeth. Dental bridges are composed of one or more artificial teeth that are bonded to porcelain crowns placed on the adjacent teeth. This missing teeth replacement option can restore the ability to bite, eat, drink, and speak normally, not to mention its aesthetic benefits. Bridges can be good alternatives to dental implants for patients who might not be candidates for that procedure.

Both porcelain crowns and dental bridges offer a natural-looking, long-term option to improve the form and function of your teeth.
